Topic: Do you like OLD stuff?

(Bangrak Community Museum) (Bangkokian Museum) (Bangkok Folk's Museum)

Ajarn Waraporn Surawadee, the owner of this house has converted these lovely houses into a museum, containing valuable objects, works of art, historical items. Some items, I have never seen before.. some objects were even invented longggg before I was born LOL (WWII, luckily this house wasn't destroyed during that period).

The purpose of this museum is to show Bangkokien's lifestyle during 2480-2500B.E (1937-1957B.C) The owner of these houses has donated her precious possessions, handed down from her parents, great grandparents, to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) as she's afraid she can't manage to take care of these things all by herself, not forever. Should thank her and her family for that.

There are 3 buildings, surrounded by big trees, ponds... you will feel so good that you would wanna take a nap, I bet. For those that want to pay a visit, this museum is located at 273 Soi 43, Charoen Krung Rd (very close to the post office, or See-praya pier). Free admission and it opens on Wed-Sun 10.00-16.00.

The gate is normally half-closed so please ring the bell... friendly guides will greet you and I swear they are extremely friendly and you can ask them anything :)

Until next time..
